Family Promise
We provide compassionate hospitality for families with children experiencing homelessness four times a year in our Youth House as a part of the Family Promise of Cobb County Program. Volunteers provide dinner, overnight oversight, and breakfast. Volunteers also help with homework and entertain the children.
Bread Ministry
Once a week, volunteers go to Publix to pick up donated bakery items and deliver them to MUST Ministries where they are distributed to their guests experiencing homelessness.
MUST Ministries
Hope House
Once a month, we volunteer to prepare and serve dinner and breakfast for the guests at Hope House.
Communities in Schools
Volunteers participate in a mentoring program that provides middle and high school students with adult mentors. Volunteers also host fiscal awareness and other educational programs to support the schools through Reality University.
Outreach Collections
We collect items for Communities in Schools, MUST Ministries, Family Promise, Simple Needs GA, and seven neighborhood schools.
Red Cross Blood Drives
St. Catherine’s hosts a blood drive every 8 weeks. Volunteers welcome donors and provide beverages and snacks.
MLK Day of Service
Simple Needs Georgia
SNG focuses on the basic needs of children, families, and individuals who are experiencing homelessness or transitioning to permanent housing. It strives to “fill in the cracks” by meeting needs that are overlooked by other agencies.
Intergenerational service day in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service. It is a day on, not a day off. On this day, the church volunteers for local non-profits.
Compassion Inside Our Doors.
Youth Mentoring Program
For almost 20 years, trained St Catherine’s adult volunteers commit to and support teenagers from our church and our community by giving them guidance and validation and provide a loving presence and long-term friendship as they experience their often turbulent teen years.
Daughters of the King
An order of women who undertake a commitment to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ’s Kingdom and the strengthening of the parish. One of their primary duties is to serve as hostesses for funeral receptions.
Sonshine Meals
Sonshine Meals volunteers cook and deliver food to fellow parishioners during a time of special need—the arrival of a newborn, illness, coming home from the hospital or other emergencies such as death in the family. Our parishioners help us by informing the parish office when they have particular needs. Volunteers are needed to prepare and deliver these meals. Periodically we stock a freezer in the kitchen with cooked entrees to be used by this group. All are welcome to join!
All God's Children
All God's Children engages the St. Catherine’s community in the Episcopal Church’s work of racial healing, reconciliation, diversity, inclusion and economic and social justice with the goal of fulfilling our baptismal covenant to “strive for justice and peace among all people and respect the dignity of every human being”.
Caritas Connections
A lay ministry, led by St. Catherine’s members who care for people in our community. Caritas, from the Latin for “love” and “compassion,” reflects the love Jesus shared with his friends. This ministry involves making phone calls, home and hospital visits, providing rides on request to services, and supporting the Cookie Brigade and Sonshine Meals.
