40 DAYS Let us say That the Holy Spirit calls us for a walk In the wilderness For 40 days. A stone into bread Let us first imagine Our own humanness -- God would not want his child to go hungry My body drives me. Let angels save us Let us imagine the very essence of our self I need to know that I am important That God will rescue me. My ego drives my need to be seen. You shall have dominion over the world Let us see our need for power. I need things. I need to take charge. If I have power and money, then I can help the world. Why did Jesus walk into that wilderness? Perhaps to test his humanness Perhaps to cement his faith That God will answer his needs. Perhaps to ready him for his worldly journey. Why do we? Come, Holy Spirit, come.
