Baptisms.
Baptisms are a time of great joy and hope and we would love to journey into the waters of baptism with you.
The Episcopal Church recognizes Baptism as a sacrament that initiates new members into the Church Universal. With the exception of baptisms done in emergency, baptisms are part of our Sunday Eucharist Service. We celebrate baptisms on the Feast Days of the Great Vigil of Easter, during the season of Easter, Pentecost, All Saints Day, the Baptism of our Lord and when the Bishop is present.
Because baptism is a lifelong commitment, we require that baptismal candidates and/or their parents attend baptismal preparation. At St. Catherine’s we offer a class called Wade in the Water. It is offered seasonally, before baptismal Feast Days.
